Public Art piece for St Johns Waterloo churchyard. A tree-based sculpture made with repurposed saws, rope and chains, Ghost Monkeys references howler monkeys falling from trees in Mexico owing to extreme temperatures. FARLEYS HOUSE AND GALLERY

Summer sculpture exhibition, Chiddingly; exhibiting alongside Royal Sculpture Society members

2nd-18th June, 2023

‘Pathways’ sculpture exibition at Hook Green in Lamberhurst on the Kent/Sussex border. I will be showing a selection of new, site-responsive sculptures alongside other Sussex artists.

The woods at Hook Green are a special site of mixed ancient woodland: chestnut coppice, oaks, beech, and birch form a multitude of habitats. Hare, badgers, rabbits, deer and foxes live in the woods, along with numerous species of birds and smaller mammals. This small woodland site shows signs of historic quarrying for nearby Bayham Abbey and would have contributed to the local iron industry. Bluebells fill the paths in spring; blackberries, fungi, elderberries, sloes and chestnuts flourish in the autumn. The woods are normally closed to the public so this is a rare chance to explore the area and see the range of sculptural works selected for this temporary exhibition.
